This is a reminder of the danger presented when students and adults ride on the footpaths around the school entrances and exits before and after school.
Yesterday a serious incident occurred when a PP student who was leaving the PP centre with her parent was hit by another student who was riding a bike on the footpath.
Unfortunately the PP student has sustained two fractures to her leg requiring hospitalisation which will entail a lengthy period of recovery and rehabilitation.
Weekly reminders are given by staff to students about riding on the footpaths with regular monitoring. However, we are unable to enforce this rule along all footpaths at all times.
We ask that parents assist in ensuring the safety of everyone by reminding their children of the need to walk their bikes and scooters along the footpaths at all times and that any adults that ride do the same.
Thank you,
Jenny Baynham
