The rebuild is now progressing well with the demolition work nearly completed to make way for the new buildings and landscaping.
In regard to this next stage of the build the existing trees on site have been considered and included within the design of the new school facilities where possible. The design team have exercised care and caution in retaining trees where achievable when locating service runs, building locations and levels.
To achieve the best outcome for the new school an arborist has assessed the existing trees and 4 out of the 34 existing trees will be removed. Whilst these trees have been a significant part in the old school these trees are not identified as endangered and will be replaced with new mature trees in better locations to create visual links between teaching areas and provide opportunities of shade for outdoor learning.
