About Hillarys Primary School

Our studentsHillarys Primary School is an Independent Public School that draws from families in the suburb of Hillarys, a coastal suburb some twenty-five kilometres north-west of Perth. Families and the wider community provide outstanding support to the school through the Parents and Citizens Association and the School Board.

We aim to provide a positive learning culture for children from Kindergarten to Year 6. The ‘Choose Respect’ and ‘Kids Matter’ programs link the many elements of our pastoral care to provide support for all children. Student Leadership, through school Captains, Prefects and Peer Mediators is highly valued at Hillarys Primary School.

Our teaching programs allow all students to develop the necessary knowledge and skills to become confident, independent learners. In addition to a broad, challenging academic program, we offer a diverse range of subjects including specialist teaching in Music, Japanese, Science and Physical Education.

All classrooms are fitted with interactive whiteboards and computers in addition to a computer lab and multimedia teaching facilities in its modern library. The fully enclosed assembly area for student performances and whole school events is regularly used.

Outside, Kindergarten and Pre-primary students enjoy their own fenced outdoor play areas. Netball and basketball courts, a large oval and recently updated playground equipment provide diverse opportunities for older students.

The school is fully air-conditioned, providing a pleasant learning environment throughout the year.

Hillarys Primary School has an onsite canteen operated by our P&C providing healthy food choices 5 days a week.
